Recuva Overview

Recuva is a free data recovery tool by Piriform (now under CCleaner / Avast). It is aimed at making the user regain accidentally deleted files on a computer, memory cards, USB drives, and external hard disks.

The software is capable of recovering numerous different file types, such as documents, photos without thumbnails, videos, music, and emails. It is distinguished by a deep scan mode which scans storage devices effectively in search of lost files, even after formatting and system crashes.

Recuva is also user-friendly and with its quick speed it can be used by both the new user and the advanced. It also allows setting delete options on files, where sensitive files can be downloaded and permanently deleted such that they cannot be retrieved by anybody.
